Sectors

A sector describes the area of society that an aid activity aims to strengthen. The sectors within aid are defined by the OECD/DAC and are a common way to monitor aid, since all donors use the same set of sectors. Sectors are used to track how much funding has been allocated to a specific area, such as water and sanitation, energy, or health care.

Sida collects data in different formats and at different times. Sidas's own information is collected through the internal systems used by the agency in its daily work. The data then goes through a process before it is distributed.
