Kvinna Till Kvinna submitted a project proposal to request for 30 000 000 SEK to implement "Advancing the role of women as agents for peace and development-Phase II". The activity period is from 01.01.2022-31.12.2023. Sida has previously supported the implementation of the KtK regional MENA and Syria programme from 2017-2021. Kvinna till Kvinna will pass on around 55% of the support to its local partners inside and outside Syria to carry out their activities in various thematic areas, but with a focus on gender equality and women's rights. The effort also includes a lot of support for capacity development, both thematically and organizationally, as well as a focus on advocacy work within UN Resolution 1325.

Result
During 2022, KtK sub-granted funds to seven partners, i.e. women rights organisations working inside Syria and in neighboring countries (5 of 7 partner organisations target women inside Syria). These organisations provides educational and protection services to women and girls inside Syria and works on increasing women and girls empowerment and participation in the Syrian society. In 2022, the partner organisations directly reached 2969 women (94%) and men (6 %) in 14 communities and 17 governorates across Syria, resulting in women and girls having increased access to knowledge, skills and networks which allowed them to to build their confidence and become more active within their family, workplaces and communities. In 2022 652 women and girls were reached with protection services. Four partner organizations implemented projects and activities that provided 630 women and girls with skills and knowledge which according to the report empowered them and increased their chances in getting job opportunities in their communities. KtK provides tailored organisational development support to partner organisations through capacity development and mentorship. During 2022 KtK has supported their partner organizations in improving their internal policies, processes and organizational structures, and are continuously providing support to strengthen partner organizations' financial management capacity. Special focus has also been put on holistic security and two specialized workshops has been organized to the benefit of the partner organizations. KtK assesses that their organizational support results in more resilient and better equipped organizations that are better suited to deliver on their own strategies and have increased chances of attracting and manage funding.
The overall objective of the intervention is to Strengthen Kvinna till Kvinna Partner Organisations (POs) organisational and technical capacities to increase womens political and economic participation, protect women and girls from GBV, and strengthening of gender discourse in Syria. The specific objectives of the intervention that are intended to be achieved at the end of the intervention are the following: - Partner Organizations have increased capacity to operate effectively and sustainability. - Partner Organizations have contributed to increase womens participation as actors of change in the targeted geographic areas in Syria.
