Result
During the reporting period, the project reached a total of 459,921 beneficiaries. MSOF was delivered through 16 women and girls safe spaces, six women and girls safe shelters, and two hotlines. Out of the total reported beneficiaries, 319,367 were provided services in the DFA controlled areas whereas 140,554 in the IRG area. This included increased awareness among the community members about the availability of services, as well as increased in services. The prevention of the root causes of GBV by transforming social and behavioral attitudes to address negative gender norms remained an important component throughout MSOF project. During the reporting period, MSOF supported 90,468 beneficiaries for both GBV (89,927) and non-GBV (541). Of the GBV survivors,11,325 received legal support, and 6,199 survivors received medical support. Furthermore, 790 women and girls were able to access safe shelters and 18,067 benefited from external and internal referrals and follow-ups. A total of 2,654 women and girls were provided with livelihood opportunities through the MSOF project with the majority of beneficiaries indicating that the livelihood intervention made a difference to their lives.
Impact: Women and girls feel safe and gain power over their lives, pursue their potential and live free from violence and inequality. Outcome: GBV survivors and at risk women and girls increased their knowledge, improve their livelihoods and utilise GBV prevention and mitigation services that reduce their vulnerabilities to GBV. Outputs: For the realisation and achievement of the aforementioned outcome, the program will ensure that: 1. Comprehensive, specialized GBV services and support structures are available and functioning 2. GBV survivors and at risk women and girls have improved capacities and safer access to resources, support services and livelihoods opportunities 3. Increased awareness-raising and community mobilization initiatives to address and reduce negative norms, attitudes and practices that perpetuate the social acceptance of GBV. 4. Improved accountability of Yemens humanitarian architecture on prioritizing GBV prevention and response, adopting risk mitigation strategies in their response plans, and increase the core capacity of humanitarian actors in addressing GBV.
