In the proposed programming from 01 January 2021 till 31 December 2023 is a continuation of the same programe that has been funded previously covering Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Turkey cross border implemented by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The budget is 180 000 000 SEK 820,031,15 MUSD) and has four main objectives: - Increase the availability of and access to specialized and integrated SRH and GBV services, especially for women, girls, and persons with disabilities. - Improve capacity of service and implementing partners to provide high-quality, inclusive, and comprehensive GBV and RH services. - Challenge the negative social norms that prevent the empowerment of women and girls. - Increase advocacy efforts with governments, advocacy groups, communities, and other stakeholders to improve the protection and health of women, girls, adolescents, and other vulnerable groups.

Examples of results of results during 2022, funded by Sida: In Syria, 113 266 persons received sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services. 53 266 persons received gender-based violence (GBV) services. 7 women and girls safe spaces (WGSSs) were supported. 69 primary health SRH facilities were supported, of which 41 were static clinics and 21 were integrated mobile teams (IMTs). In Türkiye cross-border, 149 persons received SRH services. 22 477 persons received GBV services. 634 persons were reached with youth engagement activities. 472 persons were reached with cash and voucher assistance. 2 WGSSs were supported. In Jordan, 31 164 persons received SRH services. 18 511 persons received GB services. 4 675 persons were reached with youth engagement activities. 82 persons were reached with cash and voucher assistance. 6 WGSSs were supported. 9 primary health SRH (including mobile teams) facilities were supported. In Lebanon, 16 518 persons received SRH services. 11 308 persons received GBV services. 571 persons were reached with cash and voucher assistance. 9 800 dignity kits were distributed. 5 WGSSs and 3 mobile units were supported. 6 primary health SRH facilities and 2 mobile units were supported. In Türkiye, 26 117 persons receives SRH services. 22 947 persons received GBV services. 7 993 dignity kits were distributed. 4 WGSSs were supported. 4 primary health SRH facilities were supported. The regional humanitarian hub for Syria and the Arab States: finalized Voices from Syria 2022 which is part of the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) assessment report that was developed and reviewed during 2022. The Voices from Syria 2023 report was also developed along with a related GBV Advocacy Brief to support donors, GBV actors, and other humanitarian actors in their advocacy and programming. Moreover, the hub finalized the Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) framework, identifying 7.3 million people in need of GBV assistance in 2022 and 8.5 million people in 2023. A HRP framework for 2023 was also drafted and reviewed. Furthermore, the hub contributed to the 2022 annual report of the Secretary general on Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV). During the reporting year, several publications and guidance notes were developed and published, as e.g. Safe and Empowered and One Step Closer. The hub also continued to develop toolkits, such as the Awareness Raising toolkit, and frameworks like the UNFPA Regional Adolescent Girls framework that aims to strengthen and expand adolescent girl-focused programming in the Arab States Region.
The proposed UNFPA Programme:Addressing the needs of women and girls in the regional Syria crisis seeks to achieve an overall goal to increase the sense of well being of women and girls accessing UNFPA programmes and supported services (including WGSS, Youth programmes, Health facilities) and activities. The specific objectives are: 1) Increase the availability of and access to specialised and integrated SRH and GBV services, especially for women, girls, and persons with disabilities. 2) Improve capacity of service and implementing partners to provide high-quality, inclusive, and comprehensive GBV and RH services. 3) Challenge the negative social norms that prevent the empowerment of women and girls. 4) Increase advocacy efforts with governments, advocacy groups, communities, and other stakeholders to improve the protection and health of women, girls, adolescents, and other vulnerable groups.
