The overall objective of the programme is to promote full respect for the human and labour rights of migrant workers within supply chains in Asia. The contribution focuses on key regional labour migration corridors in Asia, including both countries of origin and destination. In accordance with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the contribution works to secure the duty of states to protect the rights of migrant workers, the responsibility of the private sector to respect the rights of migrant workers in their value chains and recruitment processes, and the access to effective legal remedies and compensation for migrant workers whose rights have been violated. Countries included in the programme are Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. A regional component involving relevant ASEAN bodies is also included.
