UNFPA is applying for support from Sida for a program delivering reproductive health, promoting sexual and reproductive health, preventing and adressing gender-based violence in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey in 2019-2020. The application covers SEK 120,000,000 distributed over 2 years, SEK 60,000,000 each for 2019 and 2020. The objectives of the program are as follows: 1. Increase the availability of and access to specialized reproductive health and gender-based violence services; 2. Increase the social safety nets for women and girls and youth; 3. Challenge negative social norms that limit the empowerment of women and girls; 4. Ensure a coordinated and integrated multi-sectoral gender-based violence response in the impacted area. The program is implemented by UNFPA's local offices in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey, in collaboration with a large number of implementing partners. UNFPA's regional office in Cairo is Sida's agreement partner. Sida has previously provided support to UNFPA for a similar program with positive experiences.

Result
UNFPA provided, Gender Based Violence (GBV), Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) services, Youth specific services, gender related services and coordination. The results that ghave been achieved are the following: In Syria: 143,735 women and girls received SRH services including antenatal care (ANC), postnatal care (PNC), family planning (FP) services, post-abortion and miscarriage care, treatment RH-related infectious diseases, neonatal care, psychosocial support (PSS), general health services;as well as awareness raising sessions and group counselling, 117,363 women and girls received GBV services including recreational activities, skills based activities, individual case management and group Psychosocial support, youth interventions were implemented in eight governorates and reached 96,270 young people within 57 communities, 8,000 dignity kits were distributed, 8 Women and Girls Safe Spaces were supported and 108 SRH facilities were supported. In Turkey Cross border: 58,033 women and girls received SRH services, 22,500 women and girls received GBV services, 1 Women and Girls Safe Spaces were supported and 16 SRH facilities were supported and GBV and SRH coordination groups were led by UNFPA throughout 2020 and offered field-based trainings, capacity building initiatives, and guidance development on a variety of relevant SRH and GBV topics. In Jordan: 22,589 women and girls received SRH services, 21,341 women and girls received GBV services, 6 Women and Girls Safe Spaces were supported and 6 SRH facilities were supported. UNFPA continued to lead the GBV, SRH and Youth coordination groups. In Lebanon: 9,297 women and girls received SRH services, 40,926 women and girls received GBV services, 40,411 dignity kits were distributed, 10 Women and Girls Safe Spaces were supported and 6 SRH facilities were supported. UNFPA continued to lead the SRH coordination and to co-lead the GBV coordination groups. In Turkey: 22,459 women and girls received SRH services, 22,077 women and girls received GBV services, 12,691 dignity kits were distributed, 6 Women and Girls Safe Spaces were supported and 6 SRH facilities were supported. The Regional Syria Response produced a number of knowledge management products to inform the regional Syria response for GBV and developed communication and advocacy briefs.
UNFPA's overall objective, through its multicountry gender-based violence response to the Syria crisis during 2019 and 2020, is to increase the sense of well-being of women and girls accessing UNFPA supported services (including women and girl safe spaces, health facilities and youth programmes). Syria : Increase the availability of and access to specialized reproductive health and GBV services; Increase the social safety nets for women and girls and youth; Challenge negative social norms that limit the empowerment of women and girls; North Western Syria Cross-border from Turkey: Increase the availability of and access to specialized reproductive health and GBV services; Increase the social safety nets and access for women and girls and youth; Jordan: Increase the availability of and accessibility to integrated GBV and sexual and reproductive health services; Increase the social safety nets for women and girls; Ensure a coordinated and integrated multi-sectoral GBV response; Lebanon: Increase the availability of and accessibility to specialised sexual and reproductive health and GBV services; Increase the social safety nets for women and girls; Challenge negative social norms that limit the empowerment of women and girls; Turkey: Increase the availability of and access to specialised sexual and reproductive health GBV services; Increase the social safety nets of women and girls; Syria crisis Regional hub in Amman: Challenge negative social norms that limit the empowerment of women and girls.
