Result
The results achieved include the following: 1. Improved access to 258 schools, 105 health centers, and 101 markets for local community through construction, rehabilitation and maintenance, snow clearence of roads and road embergency responses. 2. Developed roadway O&M training manuals. 3. Delivered Training to MoPW and MRRD provincial staff. 4. Procured smartphone applications for roadroid to measure IRI and collected IRI data for 21000 Km of road for RMMS in four provinces. 5. Providing internship programmes for 38 new engineering graduates including 16 women and trained 160 engineering graduates including 25 women. 6. Trained 94 local contractors on various capacity building activities, 90 local community representative, 90 community representative or entrepreneurs on gender sensitization and road works. 7. Formed 80 LRUCs with 42% female membership.
Economic integration between urban and rural areas in northern Afghanistan through increased road access to markets and social services, supporting job creation and poverty reduction.
