In 2020, 1.7 million people were newly infected with HIV and 770,000 died from AIDS-related illnesses. More than half of these new infections were among gay men and other men who have sex with men, people who inject drugs and their sexual partners, sex workers and their clients, and transgender people. HIV is the leading cause of death among women of reproductive age in southern Africa and the deadliest sexually transmitted infection. Fighting HIV\u002FAIDS and focusing on key populations remains a global health priority.\n\nThere were 38.4 million people living with HIV at the end of 2021, of which two-thirds (25.6 million) are in the WHO African Region.\n\nFrontline AIDS is a partnership of civil society organizations working together to eradicate AIDS. The partnership includes current partners and new partners in 36 countries.\n\nBy 2021, Frontline AIDS reached more than 12 million people with HIV prevention services, and more than 1,400 organizations received either technical or financial support.\nTogether with partners, Frontline AIDS has produced shadow reports on the HIV crisis and catalyzed action for prevention.\n\nThe Frontline AIDS Global Plan of Action complements Sweden's investment in multilateral institutions, especially the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and UNAIDS.\n\nWith the global action plan, Frontline AIDS focuses its work on the most marginalized groups, with the goal of breaking down the social, political and legal barriers that marginalized people face and that stand in the way of AIDS prevention. To achieve this, ten actions will be prioritized under four partnership pledges: I. Tell the truth; II. Unlock barriers; III. Invest in solutions; IV. Building a sustainable future. If successful, the actions in this plan will make a significant contribution to global efforts to reduce new HIV infections (Goal 1 of the Global Plan of Action) and AIDS-related deaths (Goal 2).\n\nFrontline AIDS has been a leader in global HIV\u002FAIDS efforts for 25 years, working with marginalized people who are denied access to HIV prevention and treatment because of who they are and where they live. The organization has been a collaborative partner of Sida since 1993 and is an important and unique global player in civil society. policyer\n\n- Innovationsnavet skapades 2022 för att dela kunskap och profilera banbrytande projekt som sker inom HIV-området. 79 % av partners sa i en partnerundersökning i februari 2024  att de hade lärt sig av andra organisationers innovationer via Innovation Hub. Under året delades lärande vid mer än 70 event och workshops.\n\n- 89 269 personer i 17 länder nåddes av SRHR tjänster . 49 % kvinnor, 50 % män och 1 % icke-binära nåddes av insatser. Flickor och unga kvinnor (AGYW) var proportionellt sett den mest nådda gruppen. Flickor och unga kvinnor har dubbelt så stor risk att leva med hiv som unga män i Afrika söder om Sahara.\n\n- Frontline AIDS Transition Initiative i Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria och Malawi stärker nationell finansiering av hiv-prevention och -respons. I Uganda utformade tio civilsamhällesorganisationer rekommendationer till regeringen. Efter nedskärningarna i anslagen från givare under 2025 har Uganda nu fördubblat den nationella hälsobudgeten, från 4 % till 8,1 % för budgetåret 2025\u002F26.\n\nUkraina:\n- Alliance for Public Health mobila kliniker betjänade människor i befriade områden i Ukraina nära frontlinjen små byar där det inte finns några kliniker, apotek, läkare eller sjuksköterskor.\n- Var tredje person som diagnostiserats med hiv i Ukraina och påbörjade ART för första gången 2024 testades, diagnostiserades och kopplades till hiv- behandling av APH och dess partners.\n- En AI-driven strategi i Ukraina har dramatiskt förbättrat precisionen i att identifiera individer som behöver testas för HIV.\n- Andra halvåret 2025 gav mobila behandlingsmottagningar vård till drygt 900 personer på 36 olika platser. Under samma period nåddes 5 800 utsatta ungdomar med hiv-prevention, SRHR-information och preventivmedel. Digitala förebyggande tjänster användes av 72 200 personer. \n\nResultat som Frontline AIDS bidrar till:\n- Driver på för att hiv-prevention, testning och behandling når även de mest marginaliserade.\n- Ser till att inga grupper lämnas utanför när världen närmar sig målet om att få slut på AIDS som folkhälsokris.\n- Säkerställer att communitydrivna lösningar är en del av den
