Se till att tillgång till rent vatten och sanitet blir en nyckelstrategi för samhällens motståndskraft mot klimatförändringar;\n\n4. Öka mängden pengar som investeras i vatten, sanitet och hygien och se till att pengarna används så effektivt som möjligt.\n\nInsatsens direkta mål mellan april 2024 och mars 2025 är \n\n-Vatten ska tillgängliggöras till 2 040 00 personer i hem, skolor eller sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler;\n\n-Toaletter\u002Favlopp ska tillgängliggöras till 1 735 000 personer i hem, skolor eller sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler och\n\n-Insatser för stärkt hygien (tillgång till handtvättsmöjligheter och hygieninformation) ska nå 5 600 000 personer i hem, skolor eller sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler;\n\nKompletterande och långsiktigt systemstärkande aktiviteter förväntas dubblera ovan kvantitativa resultat men utförda av andra aktörer, huvudsakligen kommuner eller motsvarande. \n\nVidare förväntas Sidas stöd till WaterAid under april 2024-mars 2025 bidra till\n\n- Stärkt globalt påverkansarbete\n\nFokus på påverkansarbetet är klimat och kvinnors hälsa. Förväntade resultat är sammanslagna med resultat under partnerns strategiska mål 2 och 3. Resultat kommer även rapporteras genom kvalitativ analys (Stories of change and challenges) och så kallde kritiska resultatindikatorer, men förväntade resultat har inte kvantifierats för det aktuella året.\n\n- Förbättrat miljöarbete inom WaterAid som bland annat ska resultera i beräknade grundnivåer för WaterAids utsläpp av växthusgaser och satta ambitioner för minskning, lansering av nya riktlinjer för miljöbedömningar av projekt och ett rapporteringsformat för miljömässig hållbarhet.\n\n- Resultat inom WaterAids strategiska mål 2 och 3: \n\n   Mål 2 innefattar WaterAids arbete för WASH inom hälsosystemet. Bland förväntade resultat, utöver ovan listade kvantitativa resultat, är exempelvis en etablerad påverkansplan och etablerade arbetsplaner samt påbörjad implementering av dessa.\n\n   Mål 3 innefattar WaterAids arbete för ökad klimatresiliens. Bland förväntade resultat är ökade åtaganden kring klimatfinansiering i minst fem samarbetsländer, att två regionala eller globala klimatfinansieringsmekanismer ökar finansieringen till klimatresilient WASH med minst 5% samt att arbetet med naturbaserade lösningar för vattenresurshantering sprids och byggs vidare på.\n\n\n\nInsatsen direkta mål under perioden mars 2025- april 2026 är: (avrundat)\n\n-Vatten ska tillgängliggöras till 1 500 000 personer i hem, skolor eller sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler;\n\n-Toaletter\u002Favlopp ska tillgängliggöras till 2 210 000 personer i hem, skolor eller sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler och\n\n-Insatser för stärkt hygien (tillgång till handtvätt) ska nå 932 000 personer i hem, skolor eller sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler;\n\n-Insatser för stärkt hygien (hygieninformation) ska nå 2 170 000 personer i hem, skolor eller sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler, samt nära 4 900 000 personer genom massmediakampanjer. \n\nGivet kärnstödets fokusområde på WASH i hälsa avser WaterAid även rapportera särskilt på nedan målsättningar: \n\n-Minst åtta landprogram ska ha genomfört modellprojekt inom sjuk-och hälsovården som har ökat tillgång till WASH.\n\n-Minst sex länder ska ha utvecklat nationella, kostnadssatta planer och rapporteringsmekanismer för WASH inom sjuk-hälsovård, samt inkluderat standarder för WASH i hälsa i lämpliga hälsoplaner.\n\n-Minst sex landprogram ska ha integrerat beteendeförändringar för hygien i minst ett folkhälsoprogram på nationell och\u002Feller subnationell nivå.\n\n-Framsteg inom implementering av åtgärder antagna av G20s utvecklings\u002Fbiståndsministrar för WASH har gjorts. Dessa ska mätas genom antal stater som aktivt lyfter fram WASH inom G20 och gentemot Afrikanska Unionen.\n\n-Sju landprogram ska ha bidragit till att nationella åtaganden görs för  WASH i hälso -och sjukvården i enlighet med FNs resolution.\n\nInsatsen mål under perioden december 2025 - Även målen för arbete på sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler har överträffats men det noteras att metodiken för att beräkna dessa har justerats. Direkta resultat inom skolor har inte till fullo uppnåtts. Vad gäller hygieninsatser inom skolan, för vilka målet var uppsatt till 700, var resultatet 319.\n\nMålet för de så kallade indirekta resultaten, utförda av andra aktörer - huvudsakligen kommuner eller motsvarande, med stöd av WaterAids långsiktigt systemstärkande aktiviteter, var att dubblera de direkta målen. Detta har överträffats vad gäller tillgång till WASH på hushållsnivå (särskilt för sanitet för vilka resultaten är över åtta gånger målsättningen). För resultat i skolor och på sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler har detta mål dock inte uppnåtts.  \n\nVidare förväntas Sidas stöd till WaterAid under april 2024-mars 2025 bidra till\n\n- Stärkt globalt påverkansarbete\n\nFokus på påverkansarbetet är klimat och kvinnors hälsa. Förväntade resultat är sammanslagna med resultat under partnerns strategiska mål 2 och 3, se nedan.\n\n- Förbättrat miljöarbete inom WaterAid som bland annat ska resultera i beräknade grundnivåer för WaterAids utsläpp av växthusgaser och satta ambitioner för minskning har delvis uppfyllts. (Årsrapport 24-25 s. 23)\n\n- Resultat inom WaterAids strategiska mål 2 och 3: \n\n   Insatsens Mål 2 innefattar WaterAids arbete för WASH inom hälsosystemet.\n\nWaterAid överträffade sina uppsatta programmål, med undantag målet om att fleråriga nationella planer för WASH inom hälsa skulle ha upprättats i sex länder och arbete påbörjat. Detta har inte uppfyllts i något land. Däremot dubblerade WaterAid antal projekt som implementerar modeller för replikering, påverkansplaner sattes upp i sju länder mot planerade fyra och baselines och kartläggningar gjorda i 14, mot planerade 11 länder. \n\nDet uppsatta delmålet för policypåverkan (policy and Campaign) för året uppfylldes inte till fullo. Mot målet om fem kampanjer för att stärka global påverkan samt bidra till nationella finansiella åtaganden i programländer rapporterades fyra.\n\nExempel på konkreta resultat som svarar mot målen i Strategi för global utveckling inom hälsa och SRHR:\n\nStrategimål 1 Stärkta förutsättningar för god hälsa:\n\nWaterAids arbete med generell tillgång till WASH i hem och i skolor faller huvudsakligen under det här målet. Exempel på arbete och resultat är från Nepal, distriktet Bardiya, där WaterAid utrustat 18 skolor med nära 6000 barn (2992 flickor och 2987 pojkar) med ny eller restaurerad WASH-infrastruktur. Detta innefattar tillgänglighet till dricksvattentillgång, toaletter och handfat för barn med funktionsnedsättningar eller andra behov, inklusive behov för flickor som har mens. 126 lärare och sju tjänstemän har utbildats i att ge menshygien-och hälsoutbildning och kunskapshöjande aktiviteter har nått 9400 elever. Skolhälsoklubbar har engagerats och förbättrade hygienvanor har konstaterats. (Årsrapport 24-25 s. 26)\n\nStrategimål 2 Stärkt kapacitet att förhindra och bekämpa hälsohot: \n\nEtt exempel på systematiskt arbete att minska smittspridning och antimikrobiell resistens som sprids inom sjukvården ges genom WaterAids arbete i Uganda. Biira Health Centre III (HCIII) hade konsekvent utmaning med begränsad budgettilldelning för WASH-service och underhåll vilket innebar att personal inte kunde följa hygienrutiner på grund av avsaknad av handfat och eller tvål, hygieniska toaletter och en god avfallshantering. WaterAid hjälpte till att integrera WASH-behov i klinikens årliga plan och budgetäskande. Detta resulterade i en markant ökning av budgettilldelning för att förbättra SRHR, inklusive budget för att leda vatten till förlossningsavdelningen och till att göra uppgraderingar av laboratoriet. (Årsrapport 24-25, s7)\n\nI Ntchisi distrikt i Malawi har WaterAid sedan 2023 i partnerskap med distriktmyndigheterna och återupprättat ledningskommittéer för hälsocenter, tillsatt kommittéer för drift och underhåll och utbildat över 200 hälsoarbetare i infektionsförebyggande arbete och WASH-hantering. Kombinationen av kapacitetsstärkande och större infrastrukturuppgraderingar, inkluderandes tillförlitlig vattenförsörjning, könssegregerade och tillgängliga toaletter, badrum i mödravården och avfallshanteringssystem har gynnat hälsovården för nära 20 000 personer i upptagningsområdena. Avgörande för hållbarhet är att institutionaliserad uppföljning av WASH-tjänster och infektionsförebyggande arbete görs nu av distriktsmyndigheterna och WASH-behov inkluderas i planeringen för hälsosektorn i distriktet. \n\nWaterAid har rapporterat flera länder där de anser att deras påverkansarbete har bidragit till ökad nationell finansiering. Sex länder gjorde åtaganden om att finansiera WASH på sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler. Tanzania gjordes under det rapporterade året åtaganden om nationell finansiering om drygt 11 miljoner USD för att stärka upp 450 sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler. I Malawi ökade hälsobudgeten från 20 000 USD till minst 400 000 USD, i Liberia introducerades den första WASH linjen i hälsobudgeten och i Zambia har ett presidentdirektiv försäkrat rinnande vatten i alla förlossningsavdelningar. (Årsrapport 24-25, s 21)\n\n\nStrategimål 3 Ökat åtnjutande av sexuell och reproduktiv hälsa och rättigheter:\n\nPåverkansarbete i Liberia har resulterat i att handlingsplanen för WASH på sjukhus\u002Fvårdcentraler har införlivats i både den femåriga nationella utvecklingsplanen och i hälsoministeriets femåriga hälsoplan för mödra-och nyföddhälsa. WaterAid har bidragit med tekniskt stöd. (Årsrapport 24-25, s 9)\n\nI Ghana har WaterAid genom sitt arbete med medborgarengagemang arrangerat 39 events i fyra distrikt som nått över 600 deltagare (föräldrar, ledare, ansvarsbärare) där information inkluderat familjeplanering, förebyggande av tonårsgraviditeter, våldsförebyggande och föräldra-barn-kommunikation om SRHR. I skolor utbildades 16 koordinatörer och lärare för att stödja hälsoklubbar som spridit information till nära 1000 ungdomar (ca 700 flickor och 300 pojkar) om menshälsa, SRHR, tillverkning av återanvändbara bindor och stärkt flickors hantering av mens på ett tryggt sätt med självförtroende. (Årsrapport 24-25, s 25)\n\n\n\nInsatsens Mål 3 innefattar WaterAids arbete för ökad klimatresiliens. Bland förväntade resultat [under 2024\u002F25] är fortsatta framsteg inom integreringen av WASH i klimatpolitik och handlingsplaner i minst fem samarbetsländer, att två regionala eller globala klimatfinansieringsmekanismer ökar finansieringen till klimatresilient WASH med minst 5%, samt att arbetet med naturbaserade lösningar för vattenresurshantering sprids och byggs vidare. Partnern har bl.a. rapporterat att på landprogramnivå har teamen utökat sitt engagemang med regionala och globala klimatfonder, inklusive Green Climate Fund (GCF), Adaptation Fund och African Development Bank (AfDB).\n\nExempel på konkreta resultat från insatsen av relevans för Sidas Strategi för hållbar tillväxt, grön omställning och utbildning 2025-2029 följer nedan:\n\nStratgeimål 6 (Påskyndad grön omställning, utsläppsminskningar och minskade föroreningar):\n\n- I Madagaskar har WaterAid lett ett samråd med regeringen för att informera om NDC 3.0; regeringen har som resultat åtagit sig att integrera vatten \u002FWASH i de nationella planerna (ref. WaterAid årsrapport s. 15);\n\n- I Mocambique har regeringen anammat WaterAids detaljerade guide om hur WASH bör integreras i NDCs och NAPs som en modell för annan planering (ref. WaterAid årsrapport s. 15);\n\n- I  Ghana har WaterAid lett en analys av olika kostnader för WASH-insatser som kommer att presenteras för regeringen och integreras i deras NAP (ref. WaterAid årsrapport s. 15);\n\n- WaterAid i Niger leder påverkansarbete gentemot regeringen för att integrera WASH i landets NDC (ref. WaterAid årsrapport s. 16);\n\n- WaterAid i Niger har lett påverkansarbete med regeringen för att integrera WASH i NDC och deltar i konsultationsworkshops med intressenter (ref. WaterAid årsrapport s. 16).\n\nUppnådda resultat relaterar även till Strategimål 7 (Stärkt klimatanpassning till klimatförändringar och ökad vattentrygghet):\n\n- I Östtimor har WaterAid fortsatt tidigare arbetet med att utveckla en holistisk modell för förvaltning av vattenresurser på lokalsamhällesnivå, i två avrinningsområden. Denna fas 2 inkluderade kartläggning av vattenresurserna samt identifiering av klimatrisker och nya strategier för att mildra effekterna av dem. Flera nya naturbaserade lösningar introducerades: en jordbruksteknik för sluttande mark infördes genom terrassering av slänter och trädplantering som minskar erosionen, tillsammans med dammbyggnationer som kvarhåller vattnet vid regn och gynnar grundvattenpåfyllning, och områdets naturliga källor och vattenresurser skyddas. Återbeskogning baserades på lokala förhållanden, jordförbättring och plantskolor. Klimatsmart teknologi i form av molnbaserade övervakningssystem, väderstationer och vattenmätare spårar förhållandena i avrinningsområdet i realtid, även under torrperioden. Relevanta myndigheter deltog. Liksom under föregående år lades fokus på att lokalt ägarskap och praktiskt kunnande byggdes upp på lokalsamhällesnivå. Sammantaget har klimatanpassningen lett till bättre katastrofriskberedskap, mer hållbar vattentillgång och stärkt livsmedelstrygghet i ett klimatanpassat jordbrukslandskap (ref. WaterAid årsrapport s. 15, 27  bilaga s. 20ff).\n\n- I Ghana har praktiska demonstrationer genomförts med Ghanas meteorologiska myndighet i system för tidig varning och övervakning av nederbörd. Utbildningen av 150 medlemmar av samhället i översvämningsdrabbade områden byggde klimatanpassningskapacitet och -beredskap. Dessutom anskaffades grundvattenmätare och dataloggar som överlämnades till Water Resources Commission för installation på 18 övervakningsstationer i White Volta Basin. Dessa bidrar även på lång sikt till kapaciteten hos Ghanas meteorologiska myndighet och integreras därmed i det nationella systemet för katastrofriskplanering (ref.
