The public has changed attitudes towards the socio-economic contribution PWDs make to Liberia\n\nResults example 1: Journalists Network on Disability Reporting with Radio Campaigns\n\nIn YR3, OPDs teamed up with media outlets to create the Journalists Network on Disability Reporting, resulting in 22 impactful stories that improve disability journalism and promote positive representations of resilience.  During the campaign, a total of 374 radio talk shows reached diverse audiences on PwD rights, with 26% of callers being female (207) and 74% male (601), highlighting the need for increased female participation.\n\n\n\nResults example 2: Successful implementation of VIDEO CAMPAIGNS\n\nThe video campaign is transforming how society views of PWDs. Participants are pledging to embrace inclusion, actively involving PWDs in social development initiatives and not calling them by their disabilities. During this period, the video campaigns reach out to about 1000 participants directly benefited from five video campaigns, generating twice as many indirect benefits and showcasing our wide reaching impact.\n\nThe video campaign is a powerful tool to enhance the perception of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) because it combines storytelling, emotion, and visibility to challenge stereotypes and shift public attitudes.\n\nVideo content can break down negative or limiting perceptions by showcasing PWDs as capable, talented, independent, and active contributors to society. It raises awareness and draws attention to the barriers PWDs face and how they overcome them, prompting conversations about inclusion, accessibility, and rights.\n\nBomi county had the highest attendance at 286, followed by Bong at 229, Lofa at 182, Nimba at 161, and Montserrado at 70. This suggests varying levels of engagement across counties, with Bomi showing the strongest turnout.\n\nThree (3) roundtable dialogues were held: two (2) at the county level and 1 nationally led by NCD, NUOD, and stakeholders. All these were contributed to the output of awareness and sensitization campaign which will leave to public changed attitude toward social-economic development of PWDs.\n\n \n\nINTERMEDIATE OUTCOME 2. Social actors have a defined collective agreement on decent work for PWDs\n\nResults example 3: strengthen and support to tripartite and held first National Conference for disability inclusive labour, decent work and social protection made.\n\nThe project continue to support the tripartite social pratners in Liberia )The Government, trade unions and employers organization). Three 3 meetings out of 6 held and supported the Ministry of Labour with office materials, on the sectoral consultations, three were held in the agriculture, tertiary and security sectors.  As part of the result for social dialogue, the first ever national conference was held in Liberia with the participation representatives from the projects counties, line ministries, human rights organizations, NGOs\u002FCSOs, OPDs, partners of the project and the donors community. This shows significant advancement in social dialogue as success stories indicate that in Bomi - NASSCORP employed 1 physically challenged. The Superintendent office employed 2 persons with disabilities, one female and one male. At the county office for the ministry of Education employed 2 persons with disabilities. In Lofa, installation of ramp at the administrative building has been completed with one person with disabilities employed at the Superintendent Office. PwDs themselves have reported positive lifestyle shifts because of knowledge from decent work workshops. A visually impaired female established vegetable garden and encourages other PwDs to join her\n\nINTERMEDIATE OUTCOME 3. Concrete steps taken by Duty Bearers (DBs) and CSOs have created new opportunities for PWDs employment, self-employment and entrepreneurship in the public and private sectors\n\nResults example 4: Start-ups: Women and men with disabilities run successful startups\n\nA total of 33 startups across the five counties were mentored and coached during year three of the project. For example in Nimba county, seven startups were monitored, covering different business sectors such as timber, soap production, agriculture, honey production, and trading (red oil and water sales). In montserrado, a total of eight startups were monitored, covering different business sectors such as agriculture (crops and livestock), food processing, soap production, retail and trading, handicrafts and artisanal products. In Lofa, six startups were monitored in the Voijama, Kolahun, and Foyah districts and they are involved in agriculture (rice farming), soap production, livestock and food processing. Bomi county had a total of three startups were monitored in Bomi County, covering business sectors such as beverage sales, soap production, and rice trading. Lastly in Bong county, a total of nine startups, These startups reflect a diverse range of sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, services, and trade, contributing to the local economy in Bong County.\n\nAccording to Victoria Country Cloth, though established in 2021  was on the verge of collapsing, the opportunity given by CAD-L project in 2023 through a grant of US$2000 enabled her Business to get revived. Following the receipt of the grant her team go on board 4 additional persons with disability who had undergone training in weaving and are now performing adequately in the manufacturing of country cloth. For Victoria, working with and empowering other PWDs is a dream come through, as through this process, income generated has helped members of the group have their children retained in school compared to before when the kids were sent home due to lack of school fees. \n\nThe Start-up has become one of the sole suppliers of country clothes in Voinjama and its environment hereby enabling several members some of whom were begging around to keep involved with a more dependable and stable act of production of the county cloth from which they can make ends meet and support themselves and their family. Out of the US$2,000 received from AIFO Victoria and her team have translated their usual open weaving production site into a weaving production now carried out under a newly constructed hall in which they are more certain to continue their work both during the rain and dry. \"Nothing makes us happier than seeing ourselves involved in a business that supports not only PWDs but persons with abilities as well. We feel respected and honored by what we do and are doing all possible to ensure this is long lasting. Today the Victoria women has produced more than 100 lappers sets which has been sold in and out of Lofa. The team is currently working on their market linkage to enhance sales.
