To achieve this, the programme will stimulate business and governmental actors to take effective action to achieve responsible business at three levels. In an interdependent world where natural resources depletion and inequality grows, it is crucial to take account of environmental, social and governance aspects of economic growth. In other words, development that promoted must be socially, environmentally and economically sustainable and firmly anchored in human rights.First, the programme seeks to increase business, small, medium and large companies, openness and transparency through improved sustainability reporting in line with the framework for sustainable development and human rights. Secondly, the programme's aim to promote responsible entrepreneurship as a facilitator for sustainable development by enabling evidence-based, critical dialogue and create tools to stimulate government and industry stakeholders, including investors, to make decisions that encourage responsible behaviour. Thirdly, it seeks to strengthen the implementation of the framework for corporate responsibility at the national level in line with national strategies for sustainable development. The main areas of application are: 1) increased utilization of public stability data as part of business practices 2) international and national sustainability policies and strategies based on evidence-based dialogues 3) action plans regarding responsible business develops in line with national strategies for sustainable development. Furthermore, DIHR to focus on an additional complementary project that focus on human rights issues linked to the issue of sustainable seas and will deal with human rights issues relating to the maritime sector and coastal areas in selected countries as well as at the regional and global levels. Work in specific countries will help to identify key issues, build capacity and develop methods and tools to deal with these issues on a national level. At the same time, they constitute a basis for peer learning and policy dialogue in regional and international fora.The objectives of the special project on sustainable seas can be summarized as follows: (1) the human rights impacts of the fisheries and aquaculture sectors are documented and addressed in multi-stakeholder dialogues on sustainable development, responsible business and human rights (2), good practices, tools and guidance developed to identify, address and monitor the human rights implications and effects of the fisheries and aquaculture sector then lie the basis for dialogue between key actors in the areas of sustainable development, corporate responsibility and human rights on a global scale has chosen to make a joint assessment by GRI and the DIHR in an effort to further strengthen the already ongoing cooperation between the two organizations and create a platform for creating greater efficiency in Sida's efforts in sustainable enterprise. sIDA has a clear focus within sustainable business to deepen the understanding of sustainability to include questions directly linked to poverty, informality and the integration of small and medium-sized enterprises in sustainability practices. Human rights are key components of this approach and therefore is the collaboration between the GRI and the DIHR is important and efforts to assist both organizations to progress in each area is important. Idag blir det allt viktigare att jobba på ett hållbart sätt. Såväl konsumenter, affärspartners och investerare ställer högre och högre krav. Antagandet av SDG-målen har också bidragit till ökat ansvar för företagen kring bredare utvecklingsfrågor.\n\nHållbarhetsrapportering utvecklades som ett verktyg för att kunna hålla företagen ansvariga för sina utfästelser kring hållbarhet men är också ett sätt att synliggöra ett företags engagemang kring dessa frågor och som skapar en möjlighet att attrahera konsumenter och investerare och därmed utgöra en möjlighet att skapa konkurrensfördelar och vinst. I den mån hållbarhet kan skapa ekonomiska möjligheter kan delaktighet i hållbarhetsrapportering skapa incitament att vidareutveckla hållbarhet i dess tre dimensioner även i utvecklingsländerna och för företag av olika storlek.\n\nHållbart företagande är huvudsakligen kopplat till strategimål 3 [M3] men operationaliseringen av strategin för global hållbar ekonomisk utveckling lyftsett antal relaterade frågor bl a\n\nMål 1 sysselsättning (informalitet\u002Fmigration, rättigheter i arbetslivet, fattigdom) [M1]\n\nMål 6 social trygghet (arbetsrättslig social trygghet, företags ansvar, informalitet) [M6]\n\nMål 7 Inhemsk resursmobilisering (BEPS relaterade frågor, hållbar finansiering av sociala utgifter) [M7]\n\nGlobal Reporting Initiative\n\nGRI är en av pionjärerna när det gäller hållbarhetsrapportering och hade under 2022 sitt 25-års jubileum. GRI standarder är också bland mest använda hållbarhetsrapporteringsstandarderna, t ex :\n\n- 78% av världens 250 största företag (G250) har antagit GRI Standards;\n\n- 68% av de 5 800 främsta 100 företagen i vart och ett av 58 länder (N100) använder GRI\n\n- 96% av G250 rapporterar kring hållbarhet eller ESG;\n\n- koldioxidminskning rapporteras allmänt (80% av G250 och 71% av N100) - men under hälften (46% av G250, 40% av N100) rapporterar om biologisk mångfald;\n\n- en reviderad GRI biodiversitetsstandard, som lanserdes under 2023, kommer att vara en viktig drivkraft för ökad rapportering om biodiversitet, vilket går hand i hand med insatser för att hantera klimatförändringar.\n\n- Nästan tre fjärdedelar av de tillfrågade (74 % av G250, 71 % av N100) rapporterar om målen för hållbar utveckling (SDG).\n\n- GRI:s rapporteringsstandarder används av en majoritet av de undersökta företagen i alla regioner (75% i Amerika, 68% i Asien-Stillahavsområdet och Europa, 62% i ME & Afrika).[1]\n\nSidas stöd till GRI har fokuserats kring ett antal kärnfrågor\n\n- Vidareutveckling av frågan att integrera hållbarhet som en väsentlig tillgång för företagen och en central del av företagens affärsplaner men även en avgörande aspekt för investerar- och konsument-beslut. Det inbegriper även delaktighet i harmonisering av rapporteringsstandarder från olika källor (FN, EU, ISO mfl) för att säkerställa att hållbarhetsrapportering oavsett rapporteringsstandardens ursprung utgör ett jämförbart underlag för t ex investerarbeslut.\n\n- Vidareutveckling av standarder Utveckling av hållbarhetsfrågor och hållbart företagande i utvecklingsländerna fr a har Sida arbetet mycket med frågor kopplade till förtagens ansvar för hållbarhet utanför företagens primära domäner (företaget och dess värdekedja) och dess roll som utvecklingsaktör. Detta inkluderar frågor som ansvar för fattigdomsfrågor, bredare frågor kring MR som inkluderar den informella ekonomin (M2\u002FM6) samt företags ansvar när det gäller skattefrågor, inklusive Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) åtaganden (M7) .\n\n- Integrering av företag oavsett storlek (SME\u002FMSME) i ett hållbarhetssammanhang inom ramen för globala värdekedjor men även för lokala marknader i utvecklingsländerna Utvecklingen av GRI som en normativ plattform och skapandet av incitament för företag att gå bortom minimi-nivåer av hållbarhet för att undvika kritik.\n\nHarmonisering av hållbarhetsstandarder\n\nGRI har under perioden fortsatt att utveckla, uppdatera och översätta standarder, praktiska guider och länkdokument som kopplar samman GRI-standarder med internationella och nationella regler på global nivå. GRI har aktivt engagerat sig i utvecklingen av europeiska standarderna för hållbarhetsrapportering (ESRS).\n\nGRI och International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Sustainability Standards har etablerat ett samarbetsavtal för att säkerställa kompatibilitet och sammankoppling av investerarfokuserad grundläggande hållbarhetsinformation som uppfyller kapitalmarknadernas behov enligt IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, med information avsedd att tillgodose behoven hos ett bredare spektrum av intressenter som omfattas av GRI:s krav på hållbarhetsrapportering.\n\nGRI har fortsatt  att samarbeta med viktiga partners, som det Danska Institutet för Mänskliga Rättigheter och gjort betydande framsteg i sitt samarbete med internationella organisationer, regeringar och tillsynsorgan, vilket främjar en kollektiv insats för hållbar utveckling.\n\nGRI som plattform för normativ förändring ([M1],[M3] [M6]) .\n\nGRI har en stark sammankallande kraft som adresserar ett komplett perspektiv av aspekter som påverkar hållbart företagande. Standarderna berör universella, sektorspecifika och ett mycket omfattande spektrum av tematiska standarder. Vid utarbetande\u002Fuppdatering av standarder sammanförs viktiga internationella aktörer inom respektive område. Den processen i sig bidrar till att förstärka GRI:s samverkan med olika intressenter\u002Fpartners och utgör ett viktigt verktyg för normativ dialog. För att kunna utveckla standarder och vidareutveckla påverkansarbete är det stor vikt att kunna dra slutsatser kring företagen syn på vilken inverkan hållbarhetsrapportering har haft och vilken inverkan den har och kan ha på företagens organisation. Dessa erfarenheter har ofta utgjort informella berättelser och en lärdom är att GRI bör vidareutveckla både insamlandet av dessa narrativ och effektivare använda dessa i sin kommunikation.\n\nEn av GRI:s styrkor är att GRI utgör en neutral plattform och kan till skillnad från t ex FN strukturer föra normativ dialog som inte nödvändigtvis utmynnar i ett offentligt åtagande och kan därmed, förhoppningsvis, fördjupa dialogen och förändra perspektiv på ett sätt som kan vara svårt åstadkomma på andra arenor. GRI är samtidigt en erkänd aktör och har som en av världens mest använda standard för hållbarhetsrapportering ett omfattande nätverk av företag som kan leda utveckling framåt.    \n\nGlobala leveranskedjor ([M1] [M3] [M4) )\n\nGRI har inlett strategiska samarbeten för att förbättra hållbarhetsrapporteringen globalt. Ett anmärkningsvärt partnerskap undertecknades med European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG), som bidrar till den europeiska gröna given och visar GRI:s inflytande i utformningen av europeiska hållbarhetsstandarder. GRI har också samarbetat med den nyligen inrättade International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB), i syfte att komplettera den bredare hållbarhetsrapporteringen och påverkansbedömningarna. GRI gav omfattande feedback till beslutsfattare över hela världen och påverkade lagstiftning och policyförslag på både nationell och regional nivå, inklusive input till EU om Corporate Sustainable Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) och förordning om produkter som härrör från tvångsarbete\n\nI samband med det finns ett behov av att öka förståelse och kunskap kring värdekedjornas kontext och hur rapporteringslandskapet måste förändras för att bättre den problematiken och passa regionerna och länderna som i högre grad påverkas. GRI planer att genomföra forskning \u002F policy briefs och rundabordssamtal kring denna problematik.[3]\n\nFokus på investerarnas roll (Mål 3)\n\nEn fråga som har varit av stor vikt för Sida är utvecklandet av hållbarhet som en väsentlig tillgång för företagen. Det skulle påverka värderingen av företagens verksamhet och därmed i högre grad kanalisera investeringar till företag som är mer hållbara. Det förutsätter dels jämförbara rapporteringsstandarder och dels mer fokusering på investerarnas roll och åtaganden.\n\nGRI har nyligen producerad en Impact-studie som belyser vikten av investerarnas roll när det gäller att definiera business case för företag att rapportera och att fokusera på hållbarhetsfrågor. GRI kommer fortsatt att fokusera mer på investerarnas roll samt att lära sig mer om hur de fattar beslut. En möjlighet skulle vara att inleda en studie som enbart är inriktad på investerarnas roll.[4]\n\nÖkad fokusering på skattetransparens (mål 3, 6, 7)\n\nSida har medverkat till att utveckla skattetransparens till en hållbarhetsstandard, GRI 207, som lanserades 2019.  Att skattetransparens är en central hållbarhetsfråga har fått markant ökande acceptans och medvetenheten. Positivt är också att GRI 207 har på kort tid skapat debatt, ökat  förväntningar på skattetransparens.  GRI 207  är spridda över flera nivåer, såsom beslutsfattare, investerare, civilsamhället och organ som FN:s principer för ansvarsfulla investeringar: \n\nUnder 2022 har ett antal aktieägarbeslut som kräver rapporter upprättade mot GRI 207 gjorts, vilket visar att information om skatt och hur den hanteras anses vara avgörande för att fastställa finansiell risk och möjligheter. I synnerhet har dessa aktieägarresolutioner fått stor uppmärksamhet i media, vilket gör detta mer känt för det civila samhället, såsom konsumenterna.\n\nVidare antogs skattestandarden av det civila samhället i utkastet till FN:s skattekonvention, som har anpassat den landspecifika rapporteringskomponenten till GRI 207.\n\nGenomslaget av GRI 2007 kan även ses genom:\n\n- att GRI har varit en av värdarna för det europeiska rundabordssamtalet om målen för hållbar utveckling om ansvarsfullt skattebeteende och integreringen av skattetransparens i hållbarhetsrapporteringen, vilket understryker vikten av transparent skattepraxis för att uppnå målen för hållbar utveckling.\n\n-att GRI har fått många talaruppdrag, feedback till offentliga samråd och erkännande från viktiga intressenter som beslutsfattare och investerare.\n\n- GRI har varit representerat vid viktiga evenemang, inklusive VBDO Tax Transparency event, CSR Europe Webinar och Deloitte Sustainability event, som lyfte fram framstegen med GRI 207.\n\n- GRI också presenterade sitt arbete för US SEC Investor Commission, vilket markerar ett viktigt steg för att främja skattetransparens i företagsrapportering.\n\n- att det australiensiska finansdepartementets har lagt fram förslag att använda GRI 207 för skatterapportering markerade en milstolpe och underströk det ökande erkännandet av skattetransparens som en central hållbarhetsfråga.\n\n- Vidare införde International Council of Mining and Metals ytterligare krav på medlemsföretagen att rapportera antingen med GRI 207 eller med OECD:s BEPS-ramverk. [5]\n\nDessa aktiviteter bidrog till en bredare förståelse och acceptans av skattetransparens i hållbarhetsrapportering, vilket återspeglar standardens framväxande roll i globala hållbarhetsagendor\n\nFörhoppningen är att GRI 207 ska utgöra en bas för normativ dialog med företag kring skattefrågor och skatteplanering. Viktigt inte enbart som del av företags påverkan på hållbarhetsfrågor utan även som del av att skapa bättre förståelse för företagens perspektiv och respons till förändringar av internationella skatteregelverk som tex BEPS. Därför har Sida aktivt sökt skapa samverkan mellan GRI och OECD för ökade synergier mellan förändrade skatteregelverk och hållbart företagande, skapandet av mer holistiskt perspekt inom företagen kring sin roll som utvecklingsaktörer och incitament för förändrat förhållningssätt kring dessa frågor.    \n\nGRI 207 har uppmärksammats även då det gäller OECD Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS)\u002FGlobal Forum for Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes (Global Forum)  relaterade frågor i samband med Addis Tax Initiatives General Assembly 2024 där fr a frågan om assymetrisk information när det gäller county-by-country reporting (CbCR) och att inget av de minst utvecklade länderna får dessa rapporter och enbart fem afrikanska länder har aktiverade relationer för automatiskt utbyte av finansiell information (automatic exchange of information, AEOI)[6]. Säkerställandet av funktionell och korrekt behandling av sekretessbelagda är tex ett hinder för utbyte. Det menades då vid ett anförande vid ATI General assembly att GRI 207 skulle kunna utgöra en bas för global CbCR och ge tillgång till transparent och publikt tillgänglig information som skulle reducera utvecklingsländernas utanförskap när det gäller tillgång till information.   \n\nHållbart företagande och SDG åtaganden (1, 2, 3, 6)\n\nI maj 2022 publicerade GRI det uppdaterade kartläggningsdokumentet 'Linking the SDGs and the GRI Standards', som innehåller kopplingar till de reviderade universella standarderna. En annan värdefull resurs som publicerades i juli 2022 är \"Business Reporting on the SDGs: Integrating the SDGs into Corporate Reporting: A Practical Guide\". I juli 2022 säkrade GRI två officiella sidosessioner som en del av High-Level Policy Forum (HLPF), samt arrangerade ytterligare en inofficiell sidosession. De två officiella sidosessionerna var: \"Addressing the SDG environmental data gap for biodiversity and nature\", som genomfördes i samarbete med CDP, och även \"Implementing and interlinking environmental and human rights due diligence\" i samarbetade med det danska institutet för mänskliga rättigheter (DIHR). Båda de officiella sidosessionerna var extremt framgångsrika och fick totalt 413 deltagare.\n\nRegionalt (Mål 3)\n\nAfrika[6]\n\nGRI Africa fortsatte att delta i forum och bidra till diskussioner i syfte att skapa möjliggörande policymiljöer i regionen mot en effektivare hållbarhetsrapportering. Vidare fortsatte GRI sitt samarbete med att integrera hållbarhet och informationsgivning på afrikanska kapitalmarknader.\n\nDen afrikanska regionens samarbete med African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) har resulterade i utvecklingen av ESG Disclosures Guidance manualer för Nairobi, Securities Exchange, Eswatini Stock Exchange (ESE) och Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE). Det har varit en viktig del av ambitionen att förankra hållbarhetsfrågor på nationell nivå och förankringen av hållbart företagande som nationell prioritet och bör ses som en stor framgång.  \n\nAkademiska institutioner svarar positivt på uppmaningar att utveckla företagsledaresom är medvetna om hållbarhetskrav för att driva sina organisationer mot större syfte. Genom att utnyttja den positiva responsen samarbetade GRI med Lagos Business School (LBS) för att stödja LBS Sustainability Center att införliva innehåll om ESG-information och hållbarhetsrapportering med hjälp av GRI-standarderna i sina verkställande program. Under 2022 resulterade detta samarbete  i att hållbarhetsrapportering integrerades  i läroplanen för social konsekvensbedömning, ett professionellt utbildningsprogram riktat till hållbarhetsproffs. GRI etablerade samverkan med Strathmore Business School (SBS) i Kenya. \n\nLatinamerika[7]\n\nI Latinamerika markerade inrättandet av ett nätverk av professorer i regionen en betydelsefull prestation för GRI inom den akademiska sfären. Det omvandlades till en samarbetsplattform som främjar partnerskap med universitet och utbildningsinstitutioner. Dessutom spelade detta nätverk en avgörande roll för att främja det professionella certifieringsprogrammet för hållbarhetspersonal som leder rapporteringsinitiativen i sina respektive organisationer.\n\nUnder 2022 lanserade GRI Latinamerika det första GRI-programmet Descubriendo med deltagande av 130 organisationer från Chile och Mexiko. Detta initiativ av GRI Latam syftar till att utöka kapaciteten hos företag - inklusive små och medelstora företag - att offentliggöra hållbarhetsinformation och därigenom främja hållbarhet och transparens i rapporteringen.\n\nColombias regering, med tekniskt stöd från UNDP och Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), varit en pionjär med utformningen och implementeringen av SDG Corporate Tracker, som ett verktyg för att övervaka den privata sektorns bidrag till målen för hållbar utveckling. SDG Corporate Tracker är ett flerpartsinitiativ som riktar sig till hela näringslivet som är verksamt i Colombia, oavsett ekonomisk aktivitet, företagsstorlek eller om företaget är lokalt eller transnationellt.\n\nSDG Corporate Tracker har tre huvudmål:\n\n- Att samla in relevant data om bidraget från företag som är verksamma i Colombia till de 17 globala målen för hållbar utveckling, med hjälp av onlineverktyg och internationella standarder som föreslås av GRI.\n\n- Att analysera och publicera information och kunskap om hållbara företagsmetoder, vilket gör det möjligt för andra företag att replikera och anta bästa praxis.\n\n- Att publicera rapporter med aggregerad information per ekonomisk sektor och företagsstorlek, som ett underlag för att stärka policydiskussioner med fokus på utvecklings- och beslutsprocesser kring påverkansinvesteringar.\n\nÅr 2022 tilldelades SDG Corporate Tracker som ett av de tre bästa nationella initiativen vid International Standards of Accounting and Reporting (ISAR) Honors. SDG Corporate Tracker har belyst vikten av å ena sidan flerpartspartnerskap, där samverkan mellan UNDP och GRI är av stor vikt, för att utveckla verktyg för att mäta den privata sektorns bidrag till Agenda 2030  och till stöd  för den frivilliga nationella rapporten  som presenteras av länderna och den nyckelroll som GRI spelar för att främja praxis för hållbarhetsrapportering i Latinamerika. Initiativet har väckt andra länders intresse för ett eventuellt lokalt genomförande.\n\nGRI samarbetade med olika latinamerikanska börser för att utveckla och förfina riktlinjer för rapportering. Detta inkluderade samarbeten med den mexikanska börsen och Santiago Stock Exchange (SSE) för att förbättra ESG-rapportering och medvetenhet. Dessutom användes studier om ESG-upplysningar för att förbättra praxis för hållbarhetsrapportering i regionen. I likhet med utvecklingen i den afrikanska kontexten bidrar samarbetet med de nationella börserna till förankring av hållbarhet på nationell nivå och utgör ett viktigt steg från att hållbart företagande huvudsakligen har varit inriktat på multinationella företag och deras påverkan direkt och\u002Feller genom värdekedjor. \n\nAsien\n\nGRI utökade sin påverkan i Sydasien genom webbinarier i samarbete med hållbarhets- och ESG-ämnen, i samarbete med Colombo Stock Exchange, Dhaka Stock Exchange, Indonesia Stock Exchange och SEC Philippines. Dessa webbinarier, som lockade över 700 deltagare, syftade till att dela med sig av bästa praxis och erfarenheter mellan företag när det gäller viktiga ämnen som målen för hållbar utveckling, t.ex. klimatförändringar, könsinkludering, avfallshantering samt hälsa och säkerhet. Detta initiativ var en del av GRI:s bredare satsning på att främja en gemensam resa mot hållbarhet i hela den asiatiska regionen, genom att uppmuntra företag att integrera och rapportera om hållbara metoder på ett effektivt sätt.\n\nGRI samarbetade också med andra beslutsfattare och tillsynsmyndigheter i regionen för att bidra till anpassningen av nationell politik till agendan för hållbar utveckling. Exempelvis påbörjades Under 2021 arbete tillsammans med marknadstillsynsmyndigheter och börser i  Sri Lanka för att anpassa sina ramar för ansvarsfullt företagande till sina respektive nationella strategier för hållbar utveckling. Under 2023 påbörjades arbete även i Bangladesh och Indien.
